Chapter 674: Chapter 674: Going to Find Gu Linxi
She looked up again at the imposing Li Group building so close at hand.
The skyscrapers shooting up into the sky looked like towering giants under the brilliant afterglow, with two rows of greenery that were grand and atmospheric; the scattered shops encircling the Li Group’s building seemed like stars cradling the moon in the center. Even the air seemed imbued with an elite essence, as everyone walking on the sidewalks wore sharp business suits.
That distinct, head-on feeling of being out of the ordinary was the impression that Li Shengxiao gave people.
Rong Yan put her cellphone back into her purse, took a deep breath, averted her gaze, and hailed a taxi by the roadside, leaving Li Group.
No sooner had she left than a guard in a car turning the corner not far off made a phone call to Lin Tingfeng, “Hello, General. She didn’t go to see Mr. Li but took a taxi and left. Should we continue following her? Yes, I understand.”
After hanging up the phone, he said to another black-clad guard responsible for driving and waiting for him, “The General said there’s no need to follow. Let’s head back.”
“Alright, I’ll turn the car around.”
The car silently turned around and drove off in the opposite direction from which Rong Yan had left, disappearing from sight in a blink…

Not long after Rong Yan left Li Group, she went straight to a repair shop located in the quietest area of downtown Capital City.
“Xixi,” she called out cheerily as she easily found her way to Gu Linxi in the shop.
Gu Linxi, lying on her back under a motorcycle, heard her voice, stopped working, and slid out from under the motorcycle.
“What brings you here?” she asked while putting down the greasy wrench in her hand and casually wiping the sweat off her forehead. She removed her gloves and tossed them aside.
“I came to see you,” Rong Yan said.
Gu Linxi didn’t believe her, “You didn’t call me in advance to say you wanted to see me? Such an effort.”n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Rong Yan sat down carefreely in front of her, grinning, “Life is all about the turmoil.”
“Xixi, is this the motorcycle you’re currently working on?”
Gu Linxi’s frown deepened, “A friend asked me for help with this bike.”
“Oh?” Rong Yan’s gaze shifted to a bike placed in the corner to the right.
Compared to the expensive Harley motorcycles displayed outside, the motorcycle in the corner of the shop looked slightly shabbier.
But Rong Yan recognized at first glance that the seemingly ordinary Harley motorcycle was quite valuable. And a motorcycle tuned personally by Gu Linxi would undoubtedly have top-notch performance, leaving so-called branded sports cars far behind!
What concerned her more was, “Which friend would have you personally tune up their motorcycle, and I didn’t know about it. Could it be Lin Xinbei?”
Gu Linxi ran the repair shop, but she rarely did the work herself, usually delegating it to the apprentices.
She would only get involved herself if she took a particular liking to a motorcycle or if a very close friend asked for her help.
Thinking of Lin Xinbei, Rong Yan propped her chin up, furrowing her brows, “I wonder where that guy Lin Xinbei has been lately; I haven’t seen him in a while, and he hasn’t even made a phone call recently. And Nick, my agent told me he hasn’t been in Capital City for a while either. He hasn’t encountered any trouble, has he?”
Gu Linxi was also worried about Lin Xinbei. Hearing her words, Gu Linxi pulled up a chair and sat down opposite Rong Yan, “He’s usually so close to you; if there were something wrong, he would have called you.”
Rong Yan looked at her with a hint of irritation in her beautiful eyes, “I’m just worried that because he’s close to me, he wouldn’t want to seek my help if he ran into trouble!”
Having been friends with Lin Xinbei for so many years, and with Lin Xinbei having looked after her abroad for five years, Rong Yan knew a bit about how complex Lin Xinbei’s family background was, which was not unlike her own.
What do you think?
